What is the difference between a silicone and a plastic case?

A silicone case is soft and flexible, and it absorbs impact well. It grips in the hand, but it collects dust and yellows over time. A hard plastic (PC) case is thin and easy to keep clean, but it does not give under impact. For most people a TPU or hybrid case is the better compromise — it combines both.

How do I choose the right case?

Choose for the way you actually use the phone: if you drop it often, take a rugged case; if you want to keep the phone slim, TPU or silicone is enough; if you want to carry cards, pick a wallet case. Above all, check that the case is made for your exact phone model.

Does a case protect against drops?

Yes, though how much depends on the type. A thin silicone case keeps scratches away and helps with low falls. Rugged cases such as UAG or Spigen Tough Armor are drop-tested from 2–3 metres and give the most protection.

Why does a clear silicone case turn yellow?

UV light and the natural oils on your skin cause it. It is normal and cannot be prevented entirely. Tip: a darker colour or a clear TPU case yellows far less visibly.

Description

Moshi XT 99MO090061 is an ultra-thin rigid transparent case for iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7 Plus in the Stealth Black finish. Its close-fitting shell protects the rear and sides from everyday scratches and minor wear while keeping the phone's shape, controls and original design visible.

A hardened surface treatment is intended to improve scratch resistance, and the tailored camera-flash opening is designed to reduce interference when the flash is used. Press the phone evenly into the shell and check all openings. This slim everyday protection does not mean the phone is protected from severe impact or screen damage.

Compatibility: Apple iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7 Plus
Construction: ultra-thin rigid transparent shell with a hardened surface treatment
Design: direct button access and a flash-friendly camera opening
