What is the difference between a silicone and a plastic case?

A silicone case is soft and flexible, and it absorbs impact well. It grips in the hand, but it collects dust and yellows over time. A hard plastic (PC) case is thin and easy to keep clean, but it does not give under impact. For most people a TPU or hybrid case is the better compromise — it combines both.

How do I choose the right case?

Choose for the way you actually use the phone: if you drop it often, take a rugged case; if you want to keep the phone slim, TPU or silicone is enough; if you want to carry cards, pick a wallet case. Above all, check that the case is made for your exact phone model.

Does a case protect against drops?

Yes, though how much depends on the type. A thin silicone case keeps scratches away and helps with low falls. Rugged cases such as UAG or Spigen Tough Armor are drop-tested from 2–3 metres and give the most protection.

Why does a clear silicone case turn yellow?

UV light and the natural oils on your skin cause it. It is normal and cannot be prevented entirely. Tip: a darker colour or a clear TPU case yellows far less visibly.

Speck Presidio2 Pro is a Coastal Blue / Black / White protective case made for iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 14 Plus. The manufacturer's code for this variant is 150114-9974. Its slim, matte soft-touch exterior is combined with Armor Cloud impact technology: air-filled capsules in the case wall compress during an impact to help absorb and spread the force.

Speck states that the case was drop-tested from up to 13 ft (about 4 m); this laboratory rating does not mean that a phone will avoid damage in every fall.
Raised edges around the screen and camera help limit direct contact with flat surfaces, while reinforced corners provide extra coverage for exposed areas.
Built-in Microban antimicrobial treatment is intended to reduce bacterial growth on the case surface by up to 99%; it does not clean the case or protect the user from microorganisms.
This version has no integrated MagSafe magnets. It supports charging on a compatible Qi pad, but magnetic MagSafe attachment is not built into the case. Actual alignment, speed and temperature depend on the phone and charging equipment. Correct installation does not obstruct normal Apple Pay use.
