Tempered glass or hydrogel film — what is the difference?

Tempered glass (9H hardness) protects against drops and scratches and feels like the real screen under your finger. Hydrogel film is thinner and flexible, sits properly on a curved screen and heals surface scratches by itself — but it does not absorb impact. For most phones we recommend tempered glass.

Does a screen protector make the display worse?

No. A good protector has over 99% light transmission and an oleophobic coating that repels fingerprints. Colours and brightness stay the same.

Will a protector interfere with the fingerprint reader?

Tempered glass can slow down an in-display reader slightly. Hydrogel film works better with that technology. Tip: re-register your fingerprints after fitting the protector.

How often should a screen protector be replaced?

Replace it as soon as you see cracks or deep scratches — a cracked protector no longer protects properly. A good one typically lasts 6–12 months.

Description

Designed for Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

A matte surface that calms reflections

3mk HardGlass Matt Max takes the brand's best-selling tempered glass and gives it a matte finish. The matte surface noticeably cuts down light reflections, so whatever is on the screen stays easy to read even in bright sunshine. You no longer need to look for shade to read a message, get some work done or watch a film, and your eyes stay comfortable for far longer.

Clean screen, silky touch

Fingerprints, traces of make-up and everyday smudges do a screen no favours. An oleophobic layer keeps them at bay: dirt clings less readily, wipes away in a single stroke, and the reduced friction lets your finger glide freely, so the screen answers instantly. The matte finish feels remarkably close to silk, which turns every touch into a small pleasure.

The whole screen covered

The glass protects not only the flat front but the rounded edges as well. 9H hardness means the highest possible resistance to scratching — short of a diamond, practically nothing will leave a mark on this surface. Extended tempering and reinforced edges add security in a drop or a knock, so the protection stays in service far longer.

Everything you need to fit it

Inside the box you will find the HardGlass Matt Max glass itself, an Anti-Bubble Card for pushing out air bubbles, plus a wet and a dry wipe to prepare the screen — you can fit it straight away, with nothing else to buy.
